We are like a sponge: when the squeeze is put upon us, what's in the sponge will come out. If we are full of Jesus and the devil brings pressure on us, Jesus will come out. Tragically that is not always the case.
Eph. 4:29 says “ Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers”. Eph. 5:4 also says, “Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks”. “But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth” (Col.3:8). In Col. 4:6 the word says, “Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man”. There is one who speaks like the piercing of a sword, but the tongue of the wise promotes health. Prov. 21:23 “Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles”. “If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain” (James 1:26).
