Blessing is not always a sign of approval.

All of us seek after blessings, and God is so good, that He always wants to be a God that is more than enough. "He causes the sun to rise on the just and the unjust." "He causes the rain to fall on the just and the unjust." So, what does all this mean? Simply put, He can be a blessing to us all and be grieved at the same time. It is sad for people to reach out for all the good things He will give and then turn around and break His heart. God has emotions to!

He wants to bless us abundantly and feel good about it at the same time. We should want to make Him very happy all the time. How do we do that? Simple, just do what He says. In Dueteronomy 2:7 the word says that He blessed Israel for 40 years and they lacked nothing, but, in Psalm 95:10 it says that He was grieved with that generation for 40 years.

We should never grieve the Holy Spirit with our lifestyle. In Ephesians 4:30 the word gives us a list of things we should not do; "and grieve not the Holy Spirit of God". The word "grieve" in Greek is "lupete", which can best be translated as "the emotions of a betrayed spouse".

Love,

Pastor Owen
